It's clearly been a while since I posted an update.
I took a few months off from writing due to work stuff, but here I am. The novel is coming along at a slow pace. Sometimes I struggle to write more than a paragraph at a time (ADHD things), but I hit the 17k word mark today. So I feel good about that.
I've been finding a bit of inspiration in other fantasy works, and every now and then I'll read a skill-building book to help improve my writing skills. My goal for the rough draft is around 60k words. Then, I plan on going back and making edits and ending up around 100k for the final draft.
I'll post another update when I hit 60k, or finish the rough draft. Whatever comes first.

It's been a minute since I made my first post, so I figured I'd post a quick update. Progress on the writing project has been on-and-off, but a trip to Salem, Massachusetts surprisingly renewed my ambition to actually sit down and write.I'm also making good progress on learning French, which is mostly what I've been focusing my time on lately. The goal is to be at least conversationally fluent by the end of the year.Hopefully, I'll have more to write about here soon.

Despite being a former Tumblr Kid, I don't think I've actually written a blog post in over ten years. However, since I'm starting a new writing project, I wanted to document my process for my future self to reflect on.
Hopefully, I'll remember to post at least semi-regular progress reports as I go.There isn't much to update on at the moment, but as a quick intro: I'm about 3,500 words into what I'm nicknaming "Project Celeste" for the time being.
Actual writing has only been happening for around a week, but this project has been floating around in my head and in the planning phase for over two years now.Thanks for joining me on this journey. I'll be back with more updates soon. In the meantime, here are some playlists I created for my two protagonists.
